Tickets: $35 ($60 for 2)

The El Coto de Rioja Paella Parade returns for the second year on Monday, June 7, 2010 from 6pm to 9pm, at the South Street Seaport New York Water Taxi Beach. Last year’s Paella Parade was so successful, the paella flew like hotcakes and tickets sold out early, making same-day buyers into by-standers who couldn’t partake in all the beachside fun. So don’t wait until the last minute this year!

10 New York Metro area chefs and restaurateurs will once again celebrate Spain during this event showcasing paella and El Coto de Rioja wines, Spain’s wine leader in the Rioja region. Paella enthusiasts will get a chance to taste sample portions of the paellas and a selection of El Coto de Rioja wines.

A portion of the ticket proceeds will go to Action Against Hunger and to the Wine Course at New York City College of Technology’s Department of Hospitality Management.

Participating restaurants include Tapeo 29, Solera, Restaurant Lizarran, Copa, Don Pedro’s, La Paella, La Bottega, San Martin and Yerba Buena/Toloache.

At 8pm, the El Coto de Rioja Paella Parade Panel consisting of press as well as TV Food Network host Daisy Martinez, will announce the winners in the following categories:

  • Most Creative Paella
  • Best Use of Ingredients in a Paella
  • Best Overall Taste
  • Paella Parade Pleaser (to be determined by the Public in attendance)
