Papabubble is hosting a benefit for Cash-Honey on October 17. There will be live music, silent art auction and Sierra Leonean honey candy.
Cash-Honey, a Globalhood initiative, is a small-scale sustainable apiculture (beekeeping) project that will be placed in rural communities in northern Sierra Leone. By supplementing traditional honey extraction methods with improved beekeeping and farming practices, Cash-Honey aims to stimulate economic growth within these communities while helping to protect the biodiversity and habitat of local forest systems, including threatened populations of chimpanzees. Earlier this year, Cash-Honey received a small grant from the Seed Fund to initiate the project in Sierra Leone this coming winter.
If you can’t make it to Papabubble for the benefit, please check out the Cash-Honey website to learn more about the project and view more community photos like the one of these farm boys above.
