Kyotofu Original Tofu

A Little Pork, A Little Tofu...

by Celia Sin-Tien Cheng
March 22, 2007

While the entries in Tasting and Craving have been a little pork-tinted lately (not on purpose), we also want to talk about some healthier but equally fun alternatives. Check out Kyotofu’s original tofu (pictured above), which is not only delicious but has all that good soy protein too! Ah, reminds me of Chinese dou hua (extra fine, silken tofu).

On a separate note, as I’m sure you’ve noticed, we’ve been playing around with the site a bit. We’ve added some ads and affiliates and incorporated a playlist, reading list and watch list with the help of my friends Roy Luckett and Eugenia Lai. They’ll be contributing to the list monthly so watch out for new recommendations in the right hand nav!

Roy’s careful selection of music and well-crafted mixes have been a real booster for me for the past couple of years. I was ecstatic when he agreed to contribute his music selections to the site. Here’s what he had to say:

“‘Words make you think a thought.
Music makes you feel a feeling.
A song makes you feel a thought.’

— EY Harburg (1896-1981)

I crave listening to music, and can’t imagine life without it. Like all music lovers, I make mixes for friends with the hope that they will enjoy something new. Hopefully these music recommendations will enhance the soundtrack of your life.”

Eugenia’s a film buff extraordinaire! Her film schedule is planned out two months in advance and even Facets couldn’t exhaust her knowledge and need for more obscure titles. Her DVD rental plan is up to eight-at-a time and I’m not sure that’s enough! This month, she shares with us a mini-list of Polish flicks. Check out her reading suggestions too!

Oh, and in regards to the affiliates, please help support Cravings by making us your entry point to the following list of affiliates by clicking on their links to the right: Amazon, Opentable, Sur La Table, iTunes and The Container Store. Thanks everyone!
