What Is Cravings?

Cravings introduces the concept of gastronomic cravings and guides you in how to satisfy them. A review of New York City foods and wines based on specific cravings, the site judges specific items rather than the restaurant or purveyor as a whole.

There are so many restaurants in New York City; where do you begin to choose one? This guide is designed to tell you where you can get a satisfying food experience based on your specific craving, whether you are looking for something in the neighborhood or are willing to venture out to find the best in the City.

The Cheng Sisters, Celia and Cynthia, are your guides to Cravings. The reviews are based on the palates and personal tastes of our team.

The site consists of eight signature sections: Craving, Tasting, Happening, Indulging, Sipping, Baking Fridays, Musing and Murmuring. Readers can find specific dish reviews in Craving, read restaurant reviews in Tasting; discover trends in Happening; explore special features in Indulging, including chef interviews, book reviews, restaurant spotlights and travel journals; learn about wine and champagne in Sipping; win prizes in our monthly sweepstakes, Baking Fridays; follow news and events in Musing; and share his/her own cravings by uploading images in Murmuring.

New content is published daily and each new post becomes the homepage. If you’d like a reminder to savor our features from the week, please sign up to receive our newsletter, which goes out each Friday.

Cravings is a work of passion and an ongoing project as we are always on the lookout for new dishes to crave and there are endless places to try. Help us build on the idea by sending us feedback on what you crave and what feature stories you would like to read.
