UNICEF’s Tap Project is returning for the third year. During World Water Week, March 22-28, 2009, participating restaurants will invite patrons to donate $1 or more for the tap water they usually enjoy for free. Donations can also be made online.
The Tap Project, an initiative to support UNICEF water programs, helps provide safe drinking water for children around the world.
This year the initiative also includes the Tap Project Water Walk in New York and Chicago on Sunday, March 22, 2009. It’s free to participate in the one-mile walk, but each participant is asked to raise a minimum of $10 for the cause. Online registration closes on Thursday, March 19, 2009 at 5:00 p.m. (EST). Same-day registration will also take place on-site.
In New York, the walk starts at 10am at Battery Park in front of Castle Clinton National Monument. Click here to register or for more information.

Great to see good initiatives like this getting space on our blogs and sites. Next thing you know, they’ll put a new vegetable garden in at the White House…
A bientot!
