Aamchi Pao serves Mumbai street food: pao, kathi roll and stuffed paratha. While I like kathi rolls and parathas, the highlight here is the pao. Pao is basically a slider. The fillings for the pao and kathi rolls are the same, but pao is a sandwich while kathi is a roll. Vada pao is my favorite, a bun filled with potato deep-fried in chickpea flour and topped with coconut garlic chutney. I always add egg because unda and aloo (egg and potato) just taste so good together. Aamchi Pao’s open late, so it’s great during or after drinks any night!
