Chef Harrison Mosher of Alta has just returned from a trip to Turkey, one of the Cheng Sisters’ favorite countries! Inspired by his travels, he’s just added a new item to Alta’s menu, the new-style Turkish vegetable salad. Aptly named, this new interpretation of the shepherd’s salad is even better than most traditional versions. It’s composed in parts, with chopped Persian cucumbers and halved cherry tomatoes dressed with Forum Cabernet Sauvignon vinegar as the base. Then topped with a julienne of radish, green pepper and red onion that’s tossed in Forum Chardonnay vinegar. Cumin-dusted strained yogurt, Greek basil and smoked Serrano salt are the finishing touches. It’s a refreshing mix that’s just right for summer.
