The Bar @ Etats-Unis’ cheeseburger is served on a toasted English muffin and then cut in half, so you can see the beautiful range of pinks of the meat, which was cooked to medium-rare as I had specified. The beef patty is cooked to perfection with the outside browned and slightly crispy. The juices of the beef patty are not overly greasy but have just enough moisture to be absorbed into the pockets of the English muffin, which makes the muffin equally desirable and tasty. The Cheese Wiz used also adds a creamy texture to the combination of lightly sautéed onions and fresh sliced tomatoes. This burger reminds me a little of the famous “Louis” burger in New Haven, CT, which serves a perfect hamburger patty on white toast.
Only disappointment is that The Bar @ Etats-Unis does not serve fries, although they kindly provided me with some potato chips to satiate the potato craving. The chips, however, only made me realize that the burger centerpiece really doesn’t need any accompaniment.
