It’s Tuesday night, and I still haven’t satiated my meat craving from midnight Sunday. I feel weak. I need meat! I want a burger, but I need to stay in my neighborhood. God! This is a problem. I decide I will settle for steak. I’ve been meaning to try Knickerbocker, which is only a block away from me. I hear the steak is as good as Peter Luger’s.

The lounge area is packed so to avoid waiting, my friend and I opt for the dining room. They have a Pan Seared Kobe Burger, which was what I was originally craving, but I am curious about the Famous T-bone steak too, so we share both. The burger comes on a bun with grilled onions and goat cheese mash on the side. There’s no lettuce, tomato or cheese on it. This piece of meat is ready to be judged based on its own merit with no distractions. I bite into it and it is cooked perfectly to medium rare and the burger is so juicy and tender that I think I am in heaven. I’ve been missing out! Who would have known?! An excellent burger in my hood.

I don’t really believe in using Kobe beef for burgers. It usually drives up the price and the meat isn’t that much more tender since burgers are made from minced meat to begin with. However, this burger was super tender and juicy. Each bite made me want to eat more. The T-bone steak was excellent as well. Much better than Luger’s actually. More people should know about this.
