The well-respected Dan Berger
One of this year’s Wine Writers’ Hall of Fame inductees
New York City, Monday night, well over 100 bottles of wine, many wine writing luminaries, a celebration at the Four Seasons Restaurant. The occasion? Wine Media Guild’s 3rd Annual Wine Writers’ Hall of Fame Dinner.
This year’s inductees included Dan Berger, Michael Broadbent, Karen MacNeil, and, posthumously, André Simon.
For the first time, this year WMG awarded a wine scholarship to encourage the next generation of wine stars. Roger Dagorn, M.S. and adjunct assistant professor of wine education at New York City College of Technology, announced the three winners.
Secretary of the guild and wine blogger, Tyler Colman (aka Dr. Vino) describes the night in detail on his blog: Scenes from the Wine Media Guild 2010 dinner.

Some Hipstamatic shots captured the personalities of the evening:
Roger & Me
Beloved Master Sommelier Roger Dagorn, Wine Director at Porterhouse and yours truly, treasurer of the guild.
Melanie in Motion
My many attempts to capture wine PR power force Melanie Young on camera led to many Francis Baconesque pictures. We laughed about it, and Melanie liked this one and came up with the caption herself!
Ed & Mary
Power wine couple and co-authors of the Wine for Dummies series, Ed McCarthy and Mary Ewing–Mulligan, M.W.
That Christine!
Dynamic publicist and founder of Deussen Global Communications, Christine Deussen, in action.
