Gladiola Blooming
The gladiola that I know are usually on long stems, with multiple funnel-shaped flowers, one after the other. Not that they are unattractive, but maybe too ubiquitous and ordinary seeming. But my wedding floral designer, Yvonne Chapman, showed me a side of gladiola I’ve never seen before — a wedding bouquet of gladiola blooms. So I was inspired when I bought my gladiola stalks from Duva at the green market, and cut the blooms to see what I could do with them. Individually, gladiola blooms are simply breathless and elegant!
