Bar Nestor is part of San Sebastian’s touristic tapas bar crawl in Parte Vieja. I mainly stayed away from these tapas bars because of how touristy they are, but Bar Nestor was one of the places that our concierge Ane did recommend, so I gave it a try. Famous for its tortillas that sell out almost instantly, and the t-bone steak (chuletas), I was able to get a reserved seat through the hotel — note that this is a pinxtos bar so technically there are no reservations or seats to speak of, but there are two seats that are reserved for the hotel, and I didn’t want to wait in line nor miss my chance. The tortilla is quite good, as is the steak — a meat lovers dream. I also like that it only has four items on the menu; the other two being blistered peppers and tomato salad, but Ane, who worked with me so closely on all my reservations, recommended her local favorite for the best tortilla — truly the best.
