According to New York Press, Le Zie has “the best meatball spaghetti in NYC,” and I do love it, but my other favorite at this Chelsea (Venetian) Italian restaurant is the appetizer sampler, Cicchetti. The minimum order for two people is actually enough to feed four, with over 10 little plates of goodies that include stuffed fried olives, sautéed eggplant, marinated zucchini, beans and onion, cod mousse, shrimp cakes, marinated sardines, octopus with celery, whitebaits in ceviche, meatballs, chickpea salad and daily specials. Yes, all of the above, plus white and yellow grilled polenta for each member of your party. The variety is astounding and mouth-wateringly delicious.
