Near the excavation site of Akrotiri is The Cave of Nikolas, a heartwarming taverna run by Nikolas Alefragis, his wife, Margarita, and their son, Minas. Most restaurants in Santorini have tomato fritters on their menu, and The Cave of Nikolas is no exception. Like all of the restaurant’s offerings, these fritters embody the essence of good home cooking. If I called Santorini home, I’d return for more, soon.
