You can’t eat at Speedy Romeo and not try its namesake pizza. Especially now, at the tail end of tomato season, it’s your last chance to savor their juicy deliciousness. Topped with fresh ricotta, Cherry Lane Farms’ tomatoes, basil, lemon juice and chili flakes, The Speedy Romeo is a delight. The crust is nice and warm, straight out of the oven, but the toppings are all fresh and raw. The pizza stays on the menu year round, but once tomato season is over, Speedy Romeo will start using canned tomatoes and the flavor will change. When eating pizza, I usually have just a slice or two, but once I started on The Speedy Romeo, I had to force myself to put a hard stop at four slices. And if you like spice, don’t forget to ask for Speedy Romeo’s homemade chili sauce. Tangy and spicy is how I like to roll.
