On a recent summer evening, my friend and Cravings contributor Nancy Matsumoto suggested we grab a drink with delicious seafood at The Sea Grill, and I am so glad she did, because we were completely blown away by the array of goodies chef Yuhi Fujinaga prepared for us. The meal began with wild sweet shrimp from the coast of Ni’ihau in Hawaii — Yuhi and I are both from Hawaii, so when he brought this out, I almost cried with joy. It was followed by an oyster platter of both my favorite shigoku and Naked Cowboys. Then there was the Spanish mackerel with bottarga and ume-shiso (plum and perilla) sauce that would make any seafood lover swoon. New on the Sea Grill menu are also seafood tacos, including a crunchy, spicy tuna version and crispy baby octopus soft taco served in a bao bun. I’ve just found my summer happy spot.
