Blanca, Roberta’s sister restaurant, serves exclusively a $180 tasting menu. The restaurant seats 13 and is open Wednesday through Saturday with just one 6 p.m. seating. Reservations are only taken on the first day of each month by phone. On the night of my dinner, we were served 29 courses, half of which were bite-sized, so I was full at the end of the experience but not stuffed. And in its truly bite-sized concoctions, Blanca really succeeds. This true “tasting” gives guests a breadth of specific, memorable tastes and experiences. Unlike most restaurants of its kind, Blanca is not at all stuffy. While not as grungy as Roberta’s, it has a fun and comfortable feel. Blanca takes its food seriously, without taking itself too seriously. I took some photos to document the unforgettable experience; this video will give you a little taste.
