The soup dumplings we find in the US are gigantic, but the soup dumpling back home are refined, bite-sized little fellows.

Soup dumplings (tong bao) are different than shao lung bao, though in the US, I’m not sure they differentiate. The soup in the soup dumplings is not in the dumpling, but you literally scoop a spoonful of soup and eat it with the dumpling.
