Otto e Mezzo Bombana is one of Shanghai’s finest Italian restaurants. Located on the recently redeveloped pedestrian street called Rock Bund, the restaurant has nice views of the Bund, but also a sense of privacy since it’s one street removed. The Italian cuisine prepared by chef Umberto Bombana is rock solid — the first Otto e Mezzo opened to winning reviews in Hong Kong before its venture into the mainland. Every bite of the fabulous fettuccine contains the springy texture of the homemade flat noodles, luscious blue lobster from Normandy, rich saffron, juicy cherry tomatoes and a vegetable medley of carrots, leeks, shallots, basil and parsley. The dish’s refined comfort is emblematic of the restaurant’s welcoming elegance.
