Lamb Sliders

Celia Sin-Tien Cheng

The fame of these lamb sliders preceded the opening of Comodo. Chef-owner Felipe Donnelly and his wife, Tamy Rofe, had been running a supper club that evolved into the restaurant Comodo, so this little joint in SoHo was greeted with lots of fanfare. These lamb sliders are certainly worthy of all the hubbub. The buns are those wonderful little Brazilian cheese puffs, pães de queijo. The juicy lamb patties themselves are mixed with parsley, breadcrumbs and cranberries for a blend of savory, sweet and earthy flavors. And the creamy chipotle dipping sauce tops it off with a smooth but distinct kick. The pães are also spicy, with a hint of cayenne and nutmeg. You can’t start the meal without these sliders.
