Instant Happy

Celia Sin-Tien Cheng

Karen Salmansohn is a positivity guru. In other words, she’s a motivational speaker, but I like the sound of “positivity guru” because, having met Karen in person, I can attest to the fact that her optimism is contagious. Her first book was titled “How to Be Happy, Dammit,” so you see that she is not the touchy-feely type of motivational speaker, but rather uses light-hearted tips and humor to inspire change and positive thinking. Her latest book includes tips such as “Go on a ‘no nuts’ diet. Avoid people who drive you nuts.” I follow Karen on Facebook because I like to start my day with one of two of these reminders of how to keep sane with the right attitude. This is the perfect gift to put a little cheer in someone’s stocking.
