The green chile cheeseburger at Bobcat Bite is a 10-ounce beef patty made from fresh ground chuck, topped with green chiles and a white Swiss blend on a bun. Eating such a big and meaty burger seemed like a daunting feat, but after just one bite, I couldn’t stop. The smokiness of the chiles and slight sharpness of the cheese are wonderful complements to the savory patty, but, honestly, they are just sidekicks, for the beef is so good it stands on its own. Hours after I devoured this monstrous goodness, I kept waiting for it to hit me, but I was never overcome with a heaviness in my stomach. Next time I will order mine rare instead of medium rare because the patty is so thick that it is literally still cooking even when served on the bun — hence the piping hot jus that oozes out upon first bite. There’s no hype about this burger; it’s deserving of its myriad accolades, and it is also now my personal favorite!
