I love roti with curry. These handkerchief-thin pancakes are both slightly crispy and springy because they’re so thin. At Lakruwana, you can choose from goat, chicken, prawn, king fish, fish “ambul tiyal,” squid, vegetable or beef curry to go with your roti. In addition to regular rotis, there are also egg rotis, in which soft scrambled eggs are folded into triangles of the roti. It reminds me of the egg pancakes I grew up eating in Taiwan. Both types of roti with curry make for a very happy appetizer.
