This rich and concentrated fig spread is made from sun-dried Adriatic figs on the Dalmatia Coast in Croatia. The sweetness of these ripe figs is intense, so it’s great for those who have a sweet tooth. For me, it’s a nice complement to both cheese boards and peanut butter. PB&F is now my favorite sandwich, as the fig spread has more intensity than jelly — not just sweetness, but also a rich texture to juxtapose against creamy or crunchy peanut butter. Other spreads by Dalmatia include orange fig, sour cherry and quince. It’s a great addition to your pantry of jams and marmalades that’ll spice things up a bit.
