Blizzard of One

Life in Manhattan can be overwhelming — in the best, most exhilarating sense — but I realize I need some quiet and contemplative moments at least once a day to maintain a sense of peace and balance. So this year I began reading a poem every night before bed. Here is my favorite poem from Mark Strand’s 1999 Pulitzer Prize-winning Blizzard of One.
