Vibrant 89 Cave Privée Rosé
From the First Shipment to Dinner on A Ship
Veuve Clicquot, legendary for its branding, gave a pair of “Yellow Label” colored sunglasses to each guest at its celebration for the 230th anniversary of shipping Veuve to the U.S. This little pair of spectacles united everyone at the event. The Cheng Sisters made their appearance at the celebration.

Cave Privée Vintage Rosé 1989
Always a treat to taste an older rosé champagne. I love their savory notes. Even more of a treat to be able to purchase a 23-year-old rosé champagne that comes directly from the Veuve cellars.

67% pinot noir, 33% chardonnay, 12.8% red wine from Bouzy pinot
PAIRING
All I can think of is lamb, all variations and across all cuisines.

Cave Privée Vintage 1990
The 1990 vintage is one of my favorites. This wine has a super nutty and toasty nose. The acidity on the palate is mellow and corresponds to a champagne from a serious vintage that is ready to be enjoyed.
BLEND
56% pinot noir, 11% pinot meunier, 33% chardonnay
PAIRING
The obvious lobster pairing aside, I would just have it with fries and béarnaise sauce.
