Tune-Up Cafe

Chile Relleno

Celia Sin-Tien Cheng

Downtown Santa Fe is pretty small and quaint, so within close proximity you’ll find the recommended eateries like Café Pasqual’s, Coyote Café, and The Shed — known both to locals and tourists. I wanted to try the Santa Fe supper club Real Food Nation, but unfortunately it had just closed so owner Andrew MacLauchlan recommended Tune-Up Café as an alternative hip local hang out. That said, with all its write-ups it’s also becoming a foodie tourist destination. The chef and co-owner of Tune-Up, Jesus Rivera, is a Café Pasqual’s alum, hence the café’s focus on eating local. The Chile Relleno was indeed the best I’d ever had. There was nothing fussy or fancy about it, just honest, good grub that’s down to earth and delicious. And the glass of watermelon juice was so refreshing!
