Who would have known that a paella bar is just what New York City needed? Socarrat Paella Bar in Chelsea is tiny and bustling and serves downright good paella. The Valenciana has chunks of pork rib and rabbit, snail, scallions, sugar snow peas and asparagus. Talk about satisfying; I literally cleaned my plate. In fact, when I was having trouble getting at all the crispy rice that sticks to the bottom and edges of the pan, the waitress kindly showed me how to use the back of my spoon. And you better believe that once I learned that trick, I scraped that pan so clean, they didn’t even need to wash it.
