Jenny McCoy’s Desserts for Every Season

Celia Sin-Tien Cheng

The dishes we make for dessert are determined not only by tradition, but also by seasonality. A guide to sweet treats to carry you from the winter holidays through spring, summer and fall, “Jenny McCoy’s Desserts for Every Season” is the perfect holiday gift. I asked McCoy to share her favorite holiday dessert featured in the book. “My favorite is probably the Chocolate-Dried Cherry Bread Pudding recipe,” she said. “It’s easy to make, absolutely indulgent and delicious (because it’s the holidays — who cares about calories!), and has a hint of orange zest and a splash of brandy, which takes the classic combo of chocolate and cherry to another level. Served warm, it will make any holiday gathering end on a high note.” Sounds perfect! Recipes for McCoy’s bread pudding and moonshine eggnog are to the right.
